Designed for low-density, easily crushed snacks such as potato chips, puffed snacks, popcorn and vegetable crisps, the food cartoning machine centers on minimizing product breakage while realizing automatic cartoning. Standardized operation and targeted breakage control form the core of production management for fragile snack packaging lines. Before startup, operators carry out inspections around two core priorities: breakage prevention and static control. Besides routine checks of the pneumatic system, transmission components and photoelectric sensors, they focus on verifying the pressure parameters of the low-pressure conveying system to make sure the air pressure stays within the calibrated range, so as not to blow products off course and cause collision. They also check whether the anti-static devices function properly, and whether the surfaces of conveying tracks and pushing heads are smooth and burr-free, to avoid scratching snack bags or chipping products through friction. After hardware inspection, a no-load trial run is conducted to observe the smoothness of the whole workflow including carton picking, erecting, product feeding and sealing, and confirm that the pushing stroke and force will not squeeze snack packages. For multi-product co-line production, thorough cleaning of food crumbs inside the equipment is required before product changeover to prevent cross-contamination of different flavors, and conveying pressure and pushing parameters shall be adjusted accordingly.
During formal production, regular hourly patrol is the key to breakage control. Operators record operating parameters and product breakage rate simultaneously, and sample finished boxes each batch to check for broken bags or crushed products inside. If the breakage rate rises, they shall lower the conveying speed and fine-tune the buffering force of the pushing mechanism in time. When a carton jam or material offset occurs, the machine must be shut down before handling. It is strictly forbidden to forcefully adjust materials while the machine is running, which may crush the continuous row of snack products ahead. In dry seasons, extra attention shall be paid to the effect of static elimination, so as to prevent snack bags from sticking to each other due to static electricity, which leads to feeding misalignment and crushing.
Post-shift cleaning and periodic calibration lay the foundation for long-term stable breakage prevention of the food cartoning machine. After daily production ends, operators thoroughly clean food crumbs and residues inside the equipment to prevent accumulation from going bad or jamming transmission parts; anti-static components and low-pressure conveying ducts are cleaned with priority to avoid dust buildup weakening static elimination and disturbing conveying air pressure. The low-pressure conveying parameters and pushing positioning accuracy shall be calibrated once a week, and wear of wearing parts shall be checked monthly. Strict implementation of standardized control can keep the packaging breakage rate of fragile snacks below 1% and extend the service life of the equipment.
